    About “Nadine Mutas

    • Nadine Mutas

Polyglot Nadine Mutas has always loved tangling with words, whether in her native tongue German or in any of the other languages she s acquired over the years The exotic, the better, she thought, and thus she studied the cultures and languages of South Asia and Japan, leaving university with a degree in intercultural communication and a head full of rich, Asian mythology She worked at a translation agency for a short while, putting to use her knowledge of English, French, Spanish, Japanese, and Hindi Before long, though, her lifelong passion for books and words eventually drove her to give voice to those story ideas floating around in her brain which have kept her up at night and absent minded at inopportune times She now writes paranormal romances with wickedly sensual heroes and the fiery heroines who tame them Her debut novel, Blood, Pain, and Pleasure, has won several awards for excellence in unpublished romance, and she s furiously working on the next installments in the Tales of Blood and Magic series She currently resides in Oregon with her college sweetheart, beloved little demon spawn, and two black cats hellbent on cuddling her to death Clarification Both her husband and kid prefer her alive The cats, she s not so sure about.

    • I don't read many novellas because they too often feel rushed. This one was different. It was just the right length and introduced me to 2 characters I wouldn't mind seeing more of. Annnndddd it's hot. I felt it would stand up fine even without reading Blood, Pain and Pleasure first, if one was so inclined. (but why would you? That's a great book!)

    • I love books where the hero and heroine have shared something significant in the past and then reconnect as adults. The writing is fast-paced and filled with action!

    • I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Anjali is a smart, sassy, kick ass witch who actually has a pretty noble side. She isn’t willing to just assume all demons are bad because of the prejudice against them—even though one of the buggers killed her mother. Thorne is a shadow demon who’s been pining after Anjali, protecting her from harm, desiring her from a distance. He is such a likeable character my heart hurt with every revelation of his terrible childhood.Nadine Mutas did an amazing job craf [...]

    • I received this book as an ARC and love, love, loved this book. Anjali is a great character, I empathized with her immediately. d Thorne? Who knew that demons could be so hot? I recommend this book for anyone who loves paranormal romance! Great read!

    • Absolutely stunning novella to read! I enjoyed every minute reading this novella and can't wait to read the rest of the book series it's in!!!

    • Fast paced, extremely sexy and romantically scorching.(If your looking for spoilers and a summary of the book - this review is not for you)I love Nadine Mutas, i honestly don't think i can express enough how easily her books tick all of my boxes- how her writing holds me happily captive and how the world she has created is beyond any book i have yet to read. Honestly guys, i have never a series that i can truly say 'i LOVED every single book' and 'i'm literally dying inside for more'. This is it [...]

    • The idea of star-crossed lovers is not a new literary concept and many of us have found ourselves fascinated by someone we know isn’t good for us. Playing on the idea that we cannot help who we love and that many of us cannot help but see the best in people, Nadine Mutas has brought her readers into the world of witches and demons and those who walk in the shadows. In Blood and Shadows, which is a novella-length follow-up to Blood, Pain, and Pleasure (which I have not read), we meet a young wo [...]

    • Nadine Mutas' "Blood and Shadows" is a fast paced story. It brings romance and supernatural together in a story that will keep you reading. When Anjali finds out that the shadow demon, Thorne, that is following her, is the one that she saved at a younger age. Now both of them are young adults, and their hormones go wild.Though I'm not a big fan of romantic stories, Nadine Mutas can weave romance into any story with finesse and ease.

    • This was a cute and heartfelt story. I didn't think I would feel so much. pain in a novella but wowdid I want to be there for this hero. It was quick to get to the heat and steamy side of the story but at the same time I felt drawn to the hero and I am an so SO grateful that when the plot thickened, the heroine didn't just turn her back on him and make him grovel for pages and pages. That's why this is a great story IMO.

    • I really enjoyed reading this book! The writing pulled me in from the start. Even though the idea of enemies to lovers has been done many times before, the author was still able to make the story interesting for me. I really liked her magical world and will look for other books by this author, Nadine Mutas. (I received this book free from a giveaway.)

    • Normally novellas make me wanna throw things, but this one was a complete story, and I appreciate that. Mutas has expanded her universe with interesting new characters and an interesting story. I appreciate the strong females and, since I love love, the males who adore them.
