    • This book for me was frightening. I enjoyed the book. It was not a very long book but it kept me wanting to find out what would happen next. I felt sympathy for the poor characters in the book. Things people endure in life is amazing sometimes. * I received this book from the author in exchange for an honest review*

    • At just 93 pages on Kindle, Where Darkness Dwells is not going to be the longest book your read this year, but one thing I can guarantee is it will be one of the more emotional and heart-rending stories you will read. This is an horrific story of kidnap, sexual abuse and murder and yet it is easy to read and does not fill the reader with horror, more with empathy and sympathy for the poor victims. Caleb and Evie are just two normal seventeen year old high school students about to experience the [...]

    • Dark. Scary. Real. This book dives into the dark world of the sex trade and the victims who get caught up in it.Caleb and Evie are just normal seniors in high school, developing a sweet high school romance when a real-life nightmare snatches them away. Forced to endure months of torture, the two teens cling to one another and hope for rescue. While it seems weird that this could be seen as a love story, it is one. Caleb and Evie fall in love while captured and it is that love that helps guide th [...]

    • This is exceptionally well written, but be warned, it is a truly horrifying read. The harrowing story is sexually explicit, not in a titillating fantasy, but in a chilling ordeal. Certainly not for the squeamish, or those expecting only to be teased. Emotional and personal consequences make this a difficult read at times. But there is also a core of hope. In essence, behind the terror, this is a story of people fighting to retain their humanity. Well crafted, and very descriptive, the text has a [...]

    • This is a very intense, emotional read and be prepared to have a box of Kleenex to hand. Told from the perspective of the victims, Caleb and Evie, this story follows the harrowing event of their kidnapping by people intent on breaking them. Interspersed with flashbacks of how normal life was, or the dreams they invent to try to stay sane, this brings the characters into sharp focus. How does a person deal with torture? How does this affect the rest of their lives? Read the book and find out. I w [...]

    • Every chapter in Where Darkness Dwells is prefaced by an apt quote that makes it very special. It is the darkest horror story I have ever read and, incredibly, the most beautiful love story. There is no need to introduce Caleb, or his Evie, in a review; it’s enough to say they take over your mind and move you to tears. No star rating is high enough. Bittersweet, horrific, frighteningly based on reality

    • Caleb and Evie were lab partners in school. They were always seen together but not as boyfriend/girlfriend. After school late one evening,  Caleb ran into  Evie at her car. Then everything went black. The next thing Evie and Caleb knew is that they had woken up in a dark room, like a cell,  with another person, Jackson. They had been abducted. Jackson warns them of the sick things that takes place. This is a heart wrenching story of two young teens that were kidnapped for months and the fate t [...]

    • Eh. This was alright. It was pretty short and read quickly. I found it disturbing, but not really that scary for me. I wasn't a big fan of the ending, honestly. Apparently, I have no trouble believing in a kidnapping for sex slaverybut the lack of treatment and their insistence on staying together in isolation is just too much for me. I'm sorry, but I feel like they would want nothing to do with each other. I also feel like their families wouldn't move and then buy neighboring houses so the teen [...]

    • This book is dark but to me different then your normal darker books. I'm not sure how I feel about this book not because it is dark but because I feel there are a lot of unanswered questions in my mind. But this might be how the author wanted to end it.This book is gritty but quick. Dark but without the normal endings. This book is well written but written in a vague view in my opinion.I wanted to really love this book, because it doesn't glorify the darker side of life but I had a hard time conn [...]

    • A story of survival against the worst kind of battle. A story of finding love in the last place you'd think you'd think it to exist. A story about hope and a loss of innocence and how one comes out on the other side. This is Caleb and Evie's tale of heartache and pain, love and forever.

    • I really enjoyed this I was expecting horror like monsters and scary bumps in the night creatures instead I got something even scarier I got human monsters This was wonderfully written it had the right amount of creep and scary and freak factor This had a lot of twists and turns I didn't see coming and the ending was a shock. I really enjoyed this
