    • This is a fun, quick little novella. Francie is kind of neurotic, but it makes for a funny read about the craziness of Thanksgiving sales. 4 stars

    • *Review originally posted on Hello Precious Bliss*Tracy Krimmer (who I KNOW I’ve mentioned before) and I were chatting one day and she said “I need an idea for my Thanksgiving short story.” We thought for a few, we exchanged ideas…siblings bring a friend to Thanksgiving, eyes meet…nah…Oh! Black Friday! YES! And so was born Early Bird Special. Tracy took this idea and ran with it. Turned it into something much more adorable than I would have thought of myself! A very quick read that w [...]

    • Francie prides herself on being able to handle the rigors of her job as a top party planner, but when it comes to love, she’s lost. She just wants to forget about men and enjoy her family’s Black Friday tradition of standing in line and waiting for the shops to open. When a somewhat obnoxious, all-too-friendly man named Shane approaches Francie in line at the Thanksgiving sale, she is quick to push him away, just like she usually does. But despite Francie’s reservations, Shane is actually [...]

    • Early Bird Special is a short story about a woman named Francie and her family spending Thanksgiving together. Francie is a woman I can relate to; not only is she super organized but she likes to get 8 solid hours of sleep plus an hour to get ready in the morning. At almost thirty-one, she's dedicated to the job that she loves as The Planning Princess (event planner) but she's so focused on her career that she has no long term relationships to speak of. Like many Americans, her family's holiday [...]

    • Francie A. Spiller, Princess Party Planner, doesn’t have time for a boyfriend; she is too busy being a career woman. Or is she? Always willing to go the extra mile for others, but are they taking advantage of her? The Thanksgiving Sale sparks it all.As an Australian who has never left her country, I have never experienced these types of sales. I have only them through TV, movies and of course in my dreams. One day, I plan to be in America for Thanksgiving, just so I can enjoy the experience.Bu [...]

    • This is a short story about 31 year old Francie A. Spiller and her family getting together to celebrate Thanksgiving. Francie is not in a relationship, as deciding her career as an event planner is more important. The family have a tradition to wait in line for the shops to open on Black Friday so they can find some mega deals. Whille standing in line she meets the handsome Shane, who at first makes her blood boil. Will Francie give him a chance or will she turn and walk away from him and the sa [...]

The premise sounded lovely and though I follow Tracy Krimmer on Facebook I've never read one of her books before so I thought it was time that I do. I liked this little short but I do wish it was a little longer to truly sink my toes into the story. I thought it [...]

    • Found this book for free on . This is my honest review. This is the story of Shane and Francie. They meet during a long wait outside a store during Black Friday - this is a typical activity for Francie and her family during Thanksgiving. It was a fun, short read. At first Shane gets on Francie's nerves but after she leaves the store, the bulb pops and she realize there must be something about her that Shane likes - that she's not that bad to find someone who might come to love her. There's no HEA [...]

    • I know "Early Bird Special" is a short story, but at the end I was left with a "that's it?" feeling. I like Francie. Her parents seem nice enough and her brother has the potential to be interesting, but there were too many things brought up and just left off. I would have enjoyed it more if Krimmer had had a bit more time to develop the characters and story. I wanted a romance and I ended up with a woman deciding she needs to give men, and one in particular, a chance, which is not the same thing [...]

    • A quick fun read by one of my favourite authors. Set during the black friday sales, will Francie find a bargain? Or maybe even love? I was glad I was reading this in the comfort of my own home, and not battling those crazy crowds in an attempt to save a few dollars. I found Francie a likeable character and I love Tracy's writing style. Written in first person, I really felt like I was in the middle of everything.

    • Really cute, fun, quick readI finished it during my 1/2 hour lunch break! I really like Francie and Shane has the potential to be a great book boyfriend! Hopefully Francie will get her own full-length novel soon, would be fun to read all about her party-planning adventures!

    • With this being a short story, I can't say too much without giving anything away. It has a very likable main character and I would love to see a continuation of this story.
