    • My original Lilac Lane audiobook review and many others can be found at Audiobook Reviewer.Lilac Lane is the second book in the Stutter Creek series, but the third I have read, as I ended up reading these in the wrong order. But that didn’t really matter, as each book works fine as a standalone and focuses on one couple in particular. Characters from the other books in the series make an appearance, which is quite nice because after a couple of Stutter Creek books it feels like you are returni [...]

    • What a fantastic read this was and a surprising one at that. I was so geared up for this book, loved the sound of the plot, everything. So I settled down ready to get stuck into it. Next thing I knew I had finished it, in one sitting.Ella and her son survived her ex-husband's drunken wrath. They are starting a new life in a new town, Stutter Creek. She's even met a real man. A gentle wild life biologist named Chet Boone. But now, her ex has been released from prison early. Is that him driving pa [...]

    • I listened to Lilac Lane on the way home from a book conference on audiobook, and the story made the drive home seem much shorter. This is the second book in the series, and although I hadn't listened to the first book, Stutter Creek, this book stood on its own. The narrative chronicles the lives of characters Ella and her ten-year-old son, Nick, as they move from Albuquerque, New Mexico to the town of Stutter Creek--specifically ending up in a rented house on Lilac Lane. As Ella flees her mother [...]

    • Oh I so wish I would have read the first book before this one, I had it too and didn't realize!! So when I offered to read and review this for Ann Swann and give my honest opinion, I wish I had remembered, but, I will be going back and reading the first book in this series. Ella and her son move into their new home. Its a safe place for them and they are just beginning to relax a bit. The trouble is, not long after moving in, Nick her son hears some disturbance in the attic, which alarming he wa [...]

    • Novel received courtesy of giveawayI couldn't put this book down. Just had to finish it before I could sleep! Ann Swann, a new author for me, has this spooky/mystery genre down pat.Elle and her son Nick move to a rural ski lodge town after her now ex-husband is jailed for hitting her. When scary things begin to happen in their big, old rental house, Elle tries to explain them away. Her mother didn't tell her that her ex had been released from jail early. What ensues is a nail biting brush with d [...]

    • LILAC LANE s a captivating, great book by an even more amazing author! It’s a must-read for every reader who enjoys a good mystery book, and it has a romantic twist that makes it even better. I knew that Ann Swann was an amazing talent, but this book took my breath away. The author’s talent was really showcased in this novel. I started it one morning and literally couldn’t put it down until I finished it. Absolutely fantastic book!

    • Having enjoyed “Stutter Creek,” I quickly immersed myself with “Lilac Lane,” a story that also takes place in Stutter Creek. Unfortunately, “Lilac Lane” was a disappointment. I did like the story and the characters, namely Ella, her son Nicky, and Chet, Ella’s possible romantic love-interest. I really loved the mother-son relationship. For a ten-year-old, Nicky was a great kid, the kind of kid any mother would be proud of. What didn’t work for me was the romance between Ella and [...]

    • Brilliant!Lilac Lane is a great mystery, a bit of a psychological thriller with a dash of romance and easily as good as Stutter Creek, the first book in this delightful series. A new cast of characters, in the same setting, this book could also be a stand-alone. Ella and her son Nicky are the newcomers to Stutter Creek and small-town life as well. Ella is the town's new drugstore owner and I was delighted to discover it is also the local hangout and caterer! I had nearly forgotten the delights o [...]

    • A victim fights backAbuse is not just a physical thing, mental abuse can leave deeper scars than any physical harm. Women and children often feel trapped, believing that the abuse is their own fault, and they won't fight back. Ella endured abuse of different types and feels worthless, doubts her own ability to choose a good man to love. As she learns to be self-sufficient and trust herself, she sees her son blossom under the influence of a loving man. Ella begins to gather the courage she will n [...]

    • *First Reads Giveaway*Lilac Lane by Ann Swann was a very enjoyable romance/mystery book. Ella and her son, Nicky move to Stutter Creek to start a new life. There is a love interest, Chet. Ella's abusive ex-husband, Anson has been in jail and wants revenge. It's a quick easy read and I kept wanting to get home to get back to the book. I found the ending very suspenseful. This I liked!!!I wish I would have read Stutter Creek before reading this one, but since I won it in a giveaway I didn't know. [...]

    • I love reading romantic suspense, so I had a feeling I was going to enjoy Lilac Lane by Ann Swann. And I liked reading the suspenseful parts of noises in the attic, lights going out at night, and the unusual and scary surprises. The romance between Ella and Chet was sweet and promising, and author's sense of humor made me smile. But what made this book an even a better read for me was the great relationship between Ella and her son. It was very endearing, and also showed the growth of both of th [...]

    • A romantic suspense book- a great read. Full of mystery and danger around the corner.Ella and her son have started a new life in Stutter Creek- but keep hearing disturbing noises in the attic. Her ex husband has been released from prison- could it have anything to do with him. The police think that it is only wild life making the noise in the rood space. She has a new boyfriend who is a biologist. He’s the eligible bachelor in town. But is she ready for a new relationship?I really enjoyed this [...]

    • Ella Webb and her 10-year-old son Danny have just moved to Stutter Creek from Albuquerque to begin a new life after leaving leaving her ex-husband Anson in prison for threats and abuse. Only her mother knows where she has moved to because she is afraid if Anson ever found out he might hunt them down as he threatened to do that last day in the courthouse.Settling in at Stutter Creek as the new owner of the Drugstore Cafe was easier than she had hoped for with all the friendly people of Stutter Cr [...]

    • My Thoughts: As I write my first thoughts about this story, moments after I’ve completed the read, I’m trying to get my heart rate to normal and the adrenalin rush from this terrific suspense to abate. It was just WOW! Such a page-turner. I was scared out of my living mind! From the first chapter we learn that Ella's ex, Anson, has gotten out of jail for good behavior and overcrowding. He was put there when Ella called the police after roughing her up. The look and words she received from him [...]

    • Review of Lilac Lane by Ann SwannMystery, suspenseStutter Creek Series: book 24/5 Angel wingsWhat do you do when you and your child are abused? You put the rat in prison and move to start a new and better life, at least that’s what you hope will happen. Such is the premise of Ann Swann’s second book in the Stutter Creek Series, Lilac Lane. When our heroine Elle discovers that her husband has abused her 10-year-old son, Nick, she acts quickly, calls the police, does all she should do as a moth [...]

    • Ella's life hasn't been easy. She recently left her ex-husband who had been both verbally and physically abusive to her and her young son, Nick. Wanting a fresh start, she moves to the small town of Stutter Creek and buys the local restaurant. She and her son are renting a house outside of town. She's hoping to put the past behind her and begin a new life. But the past won't leave her alone. The first night at the house, Ella and Nick experience strange noises in the attic and are afraid of an i [...]

    • I really liked this book. It was well written, very suspenseful, kept me guessing all the way through, and was a very enjoyable story. There were lots of little twists and happenings to keep your interest, including a little romance. This was not an overbearing romance, definitely more suspense with a touch of romance - it was done very well.I thought the character development was great. The author did a great job on the whole cast. I felt like I got to know each one equally well. I really liked [...]

    • This is the second book in the Sutter Creek Series, but it can be read as a stand alone! This is the first book I picked up from Ann Swann and it won't be my last. Every round I hear after finishing this story has me on the edge of my seat! lolAnn Swann does a great job of giving us realistic characters that encounter real world situations and make you feel like you are part of the story. Lilac Lane will suck you right in and keep you on edge throughout the last page. I was sad to see it end.

    • While reading this book, I really thought that the outcome was going in a completely different direction than where it actually went. I saw four possible directions, and would have been thoroughly entertained by any of them. The author waits until the last possible moment to reveal her intent. I was definitely kept on the edge of my seat -- to the point where I was completely oblivious to the fact that my husband and one of his friends were trying to talk to me as I was reading it. Great plot. E [...]

    • 4.5 stars! This was even better than I had expected and kept me hooked throughout the entire book! There wasn't a single moment where I was bored, and every written word drove the plot forward!Full review here: charmainelimen.wordpress/

    • Very enjoyable read! Well written and entertaining, lovely relationship between the mother and her young son. Suspense and also romance. Would definitely recommend this book and the author. Can't wait to read more of Ms. Swann's work. I was sent an ARC for an honest review. KL

    • This was a fast moving read. It showed the dangers of staying in abusive relationships and how even the worst circumstances can be surmounted. The characters were all real and it was east to relate to them. Looking forward to Ms. Swann's next book. I read this through .

    • Lilac Lane carries intrigue as to the culprit of the sound. To mother and child it seems almost paranormal. The truth is more frightening.

    • I really enjoyed this story, I found it to be a real page turner, even though you knew the husband was released from prison. Well written, and I would read more by Ann Swann any day.

    • Ella and her ten year old son, Nick, have moved to Stutter Creek, near Albuquerque, in a desperate attempt to escape from his abusive stepfather who has threatened to kill them both when he gets out of jail. They’ve bought the local diner and are saying in a rented home whilst they see if it will all work out well for them. the only person who knows where they’ve moved to and their fears is her Mum, no one in Stutter Creek knows about their past or the threats on their future. Meanwhile, her [...]

    • I received a free copy of this book from Net Galley. Thank you, 5 Prince Publishing!Lilac Lane has everything: intrigue, suspense, scary bits and romance. I never saw the twists coming. All the characters are so well defined, you really get to know them. Not only Ella, the abused wife hiding from her psycho ex-husband, and Nick, her resourceful 10-year old, but also Chet, the compassionate animal control technician who seems too good to be true; and the rest of the residents of Stutter Creek. Th [...]

    • Lilac Lane is a romance with a little bit of a thriller thrown in.Ella and her son Nick are on the run from Ella's abusive ex-husband. He's a rotten piece of work and was locked up for his crimes. However as the judicial system works, he gets probation. Meanwhile out in the country Ella and Nick are settling into rural life with plenty to keep them occupied though they have some nighttime visitors. The local environment expert Chet spots there have been raccoons and deals with them. But is that [...]
