J.A Jessica Ann Redmerski is a New York Times, USA Today and Wall Street Journal bestselling author and award winner who juggles several different genres She began self publishing in 2012, and later with the success of THE EDGE OF NEVER, signed on with Grand Central Publishing Forever Romance She has since signed three deals with GC Forever for titles THE EDGE OF ALWAYS, SONG OF THE FIREFLIES and THE MOMENT OF LETTING GO Her works have so far been translated into twenty languages THE EDGE OF NEVER made it to 2 on the New York Times bestseller eBook list, and remained on the 1 spot on for two straight weeks THE EDGE OF ALWAYS also made the New York Times bestseller list.Jessica is a hybrid author who, in addition to working with a traditional publisher, also continues to self publish The Portuguese rights to her popular crime and suspense series, In the Company of Killers, have been picked up by one of Brazil s largest publishers Suma de Letras Paikese Kirjastus in Estonia Ephesus in Turkey Konyvmolykepzob in Hungary Niezwykle in Poland Bragelonne in France The series has been optioned for television by William Levy in the United States, and a film exclusive to the Dominican Republic.Jessica is a lover of film, television and books that push boundaries and she s a sucker for long, sweeping, epic love stories Things on Jessica s wish list are to conquer her long list of ridiculous fears, find a shirt she actually likes, and travel the world with her partner in crime. What book is Jessica most proud to have written It s a question she gets asked quite often The answer is, hands down, DIRTY EDEN DIRTY EDEN was an entirely organic experience for me, as was the story from beginning to end nothing was planned, and I didn t know the end myself until I got there As much as I enjoy writing love stories and crime novels, a big part of my heart really does lie in the satirical and strange I just wish people would read it.

    • You can read my full review at Sinfully Sexy.5 “CONFLICTED” STARS“but love isn’t always roses and rainbows and butterflies in your stomach. It’s equally cruel and painful and the world’s worst villain.”Song of the Fireflies by J.A. Redmerski is a book that has left me deeply conflicted and not in a good way. I do not think I have ever finished a book and was immediately perplexed as to how I should rate the said book. I want to start by saying that I am an emotional reader and I te [...]

    • No rating DNF @52%I'll start out by saying I love J.A. Redmerski's other works. I think she's a very talented author and I will continue to read her stories. TEoN is one of my favorite books, and I love her in the Company of Killers series. This book well, it just wasn't for me. I could tell by 20-25%. I didn't connect with either one of the main characters and didn't like the direction the story was taking. I'm not a quitter, so I kept at it. Once I hit the half way mark, I couldn't keep going. [...]

    • No rating. What a torturous and agonizing reading experience. It's about to get really wordy so bear with me.Song of the Fireflies is one of those books I'm scared to recommend because who knows what kind of emotional damage it'll do to you, but without reading it, you'd never experience the harrowing, tumultuous, but heartfelt journey that Bray and Elias went through. *blows out breath* How can a book be so infuriatingly addicting BUT be a trainwreck at the same time? There is literally no compa [...]

    • Title: Song Of The FirefliesSeries: StandaloneAuthor: J A RedmerskiRelease Date:February 4th, 2014Rating: 1.5 starsCliffhanger: No HEA:(view spoiler)[Yes(hide spoiler)]I found it difficult to review this book. Though, I've loved previous books by this author, this one was not for me. I didn’t like Song of The Fireflies and if I’m being entirely honest, I kind of hated it. I totally didn’t feel connected to the story and characters. And what’s worse, for the most part of the book, I felt [...]

    • Elias and Bray met when they were kids and became best friends. They've always been a part of each other lives until they decided to become more. When I saw that JR was coming out with another book, I was really excited, that is, until the reviews started coming in. So many of my friends DNF it and that's never a good sign. Butmething pulled at me to read it. I mean how bad could it be? We've already met Elias and Bray from The Edge of Always and they seemed interesting Anyway, my curiosity got [...]

    • Have you ever read a book and sat wandering whether or not you "got it" or whether or not it worked or youwell, that is where I find myself at the end of this one!I have honestly loved every JA Redmerski book she has written to date, so the idea of a new stand-alone romance had me practically doing cartwheels. I was prepared for a bit of angst and I knew that there would be damaged characters but I was looking forward to how she clears out the dark clouds and brings warmth and light to into her [...]

    • OMG!!! A new Standalone New Adult Contemporary Romance from the author ofThe Edge of Never!!SQUEEEEEEEEEEEEE!!!! Can't wait!! A stunning and heart-wrenching new novel about a couple who find each other in their darkest moment. Since they were kids, Elias Kline and Brayelle Bates have been inseparable. When Bray moves to South Carolina, separating the two for the first time, they both at last realize that their innocent childhood friendship has developed into something much more. So when Bray fin [...]

    • Yayyy I got my arc :)))* ARC provided by publisher, Grand Central Forever, via Netgalley in exchange for honest review *

    • “We’re all different. We all have our own quirks and flaws and dark secrets. All of us are f@cked up on some level, whether or not we want to admit it to ourselves. And I like to believe that not every problem or issue that we deal with in our daily lives must be labelled with a fancy title.” While this is true, it's hard to read a romance where one is putting everything at risk to save the other, literally and metaphorically. You can't play around with anxiety and depression and certainly [...]

    • 2 Conflicted Stars! This bookI would have loved this if not for the fact that Bray is just so unlikable and so confusing it made my head spin. Definitely not the kind of heroine you want to root for. I get damaged characters. I get it. They make for great reading. But there is fine line between a damaged and an unlikable one. Bray was just unlikable. If I'm reading a book about effed up characters, I still wanna be able to root for them too.Honestly, I almost wished Bray didn't (view spoiler)[sur [...]

    • 2 VERY disappointing StarsBefore I start this review, let me just say, I gave The Edge of Never, Killing Sarai and Revitalizing Sarai 5 stars. I’m a HUGE Redmerski fan. I was very excited about Song of the Fireflies. I love reading new series, especially from authors I love.I have never been more disappointed than I have been with Song of the Fireflies. It was awful, from start to finish. Let me just convey to you my emotions throughout the read.I was boredI was shocked, then pissed.I was annoy [...]

    • Initial reaction:I think for the most part, I'm 0 for 2 in terms of books I've read from J.A. Redmerski that I've actually liked, but this actually had potential to be a good read. Which actually makes me angry because if it'd had a good vetting out to deal with the inconsistencies and presentation, it could've been better. The writing in this was terrible, and that's what ruined the book for me.Full review:I'm a little more than upset after reading this book and probably not for the reasons tha [...]

    • “Love isn't always roses and rainbows and butterflies in your stomach. It’s equally cruel and painful and the world’s worst villain.”This is not your usual love story. Don’t get me wrong, it features an incredibly strong romance, with deep, deep love on both sides, but it also explores the lengths that people will go to for those that they love, and this one takes a trip straight into crazy town!I loved the beginning of this story and the set up of Elias and Bray’s story. It’s the [...]

    • 3 starsMaybe seeing all the low ratings had my expectations low. For me it was actually an okay read. Bray and Elias are best friends turn lovers but dont be fooled, this wasnt a sweet love story. I felt like I just come off the crazy train and my head is still spinning after I finished.I couldnt feel any romance and I didnt like the main characters but there was a good amount of sexy time. Be warned there are scenes of: (view spoiler)[threesome, drug use, backdoor action (hide spoiler)] If your [...]

    • This has been one hell of an emotional ride I actually cried what can I say, I'm emotional person I've seen many bad reviews and ratings for this book, so I had low expectations but it turns out that for me it was a good book

    • Nose Graze — Book reviews & blogging tipsI didn't like Song of the Fireflies. It was well written and J.A. Redmerski is an amazing author and person, but this book wasn't for me. It's not the kind of book that I would tell everyone to avoid, it's just the kind of book that didn't click with me personally. For starters, Song of the Fireflies has a lot of drinking and a bit of smoking/drug use. Those kinds of things don't click well with me. That's just an entire scene that I'm not into. I'm [...]

    • 2 starsThis Book Right Here. I'm seriously giving 2 stars to Elias and Redmerski's writing. Bray is a nutcase, and Elias a saint for putting up with so much from her.

    • I have to admit I was worried when I started this one. Many people who read the same books as me were not as pleased with this work of Redmerski. Like them, I love Redmerski's writing and The Edge of Never was probably one of the best books I've read. I agree this book was definitely different, but I enjoyed it, kind of how I liked Thelma and Louise way back when.Bray was definitely one messed up character but I love the devotion that Elias has to her. These two were definitely made for each oth [...]

    • I’ve been a huge fan of J.A. Redmerski since she published her novel The Edge of Never. However it was her In the Company of Killers that showed me how Redmerski can really light up the pages with a solid story. She always seems to captivate my attention with her easy-to-fall-for characters, well-paced plot and hard hitting drama, so when I heard she was releasing a new novel, I was definitely excited!Song of the Fireflies is probably one of the more difficult reads I’ve come across in a whi [...]

    • I love the storyline in the beginning, being that they grow up together, bonded, fell in love… and you can tell from the start that Brayelle a.k.a. Bray is trouble. And Elias has a love and patience of a saint for Bray!Might just be me but I just couldn’t seem to like Bray…. and even to the end…. Could be cause it felt like the ending was just summed-up?And Elias, I should say that he is such an amazing guy cause his love towards Bray is strong and unwavering, it’s unreal! But I’m sa [...]

    • “… love isn’t always roses and rainbows and butterflies in your stomach. It’s equally cruel and painful and the world’s worst villain.”I genuinely believe that our lives, our past and present experiences determine our enjoyment of most of the stories we read, each book gently touching our memories like the keys of a piano, and merging them into the grand symphony of its storyline. But each reader’s life will compose a different melody, each book thus finding a ‘different home’ [...]

    • What good love is if it can destroy you?I didn't like this book, but not because it was badly written, it was beautifully written, or because the story was bad, it was a great story, but because I got frustrated reading it. I watched Bray messed up Elias’ life, I dare to say selfishly, although, some would say because she was sick, and I couldn't do anything about it. I wanted him to leave her because it was like watching a train wreck that never ended. On one hand, she was ruining his life, b [...]

    • J.A. Redmerski did it again and I loved it!!!!!!!!!!!Once again Redmerski leads me down a road of absolute perfection in a book! This is a heart wrenching story of a girl suffering from a painful and troubling past and her journey to find peace and feel loved. The intensity begins with a beautiful friendship that turns into an undying love. Elias's devotion to Bray is unwavering and he stands by her through all the poor decisions she makes time and time again. Together they must face the consequ [...]

    • This was an emotional roller-coaster! I'm not going to put any spoilers in this review, because I think it's best going into this one without any background. If I had to compare it to The Edge of Never and The Edge of Always, I will have to say that I enjoyed those better, but I still recommend this one, because her writing is phenomenal! J.A. Redmerski develops such beautiful characters that are hard not to feel for. I recommend this to new adult lovers!

    • ***Arc provided via Netgalley in exchange for honest review***This review is posted on Way Too Hot Books."They say you never forget your first love, and I have to say that they are right. I met the girl of my dreams when we were both still fans of the tree houses and dirt cakes- she made the best dirt cakes in Georgia- and today , seventeen years later, I still see her smile in everything good."The (in)famous curse of first love- there are lot of things and people throughout our life which time [...]

    • There were so many things wrong with this book, I don’t even know where to begin. Let’s just start with the one quote that’s said multiple times throughout this book, “If you’re not guilty, then why did you run?” At least 75% of the trainwreck revolves around that question. I’m going to try to make this review as spoiler free as possible, but I may need to reveal a few details so to understand my position.Let’s start with our cast: First, there’s Elias Kane. He falls in love at [...]

    • **ARC generously provided by Forever (Grand Central Publishing) via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review**Song of the Fireflies is a tough one for me to review. I am so grateful to the publisher for providing me the opportunity to read this story. I am a huge fan of J.A. Redmerski and her works. Her writing is one of a kind and Song of the Fireflies is no exception. The story is interesting and the plot engaging. Ms. Redmerski's style of writing draws into the story even more. I think with [...]

    • Review: 2 out of 5 starsI wanted to love Song of the Fireflies, Killing Sarah by J.A Redmerski was amazing and I have heard great things about her The Edge of Never series but unfortunately I didn’t connect with this one whatsoever and was left underwhelmed and disappointed. The beginning of the book was quite promising as we meet Elias Kline and Brayelle Bates, best friends since childhood but as the book progresses and a huge mistake is made it all went downhill from there and the only saving [...]

    • Bray and Elias have been best friends since they were 9 years old. Fear stops them from becoming closer but when they eventually give in to their true feelings things spiral out of control. If Elias had known that Bray had BiPolar Disorder before they went on the run could things have been prevented? How far is he willing to go for love?I really enjoyed this book, no hearts and flowers here but a tale of true love.
