    • Just finished "The Mustard Seeds" by Karen Mueller Bryson. I give it 5 stars. It took me about an hour and a half to read. It was a feel good story. Elliot White is 16 and a musical genius and lived in New York. His mother dies suddenly and he has to go live with his aunt in Arizona and the school there has no music program, he forms his own with the town's misfits after his aunt gives his some mustard seeds which is what they name the band! But the principal, Mr Winters is against them. Can the [...]

    • We are proud to announce that this book has been honored with a 2012 B.R.A.G.Medallion - telling you that this book is well worth your time and money!

    • I thought the premise for this book was ideal, and since I know and have worked with kids with Asperger's Syndrome, I thought that I would truly love this book. As I read, I couldn't help thinking that this was written more like a screenplay than a novel. It also felt like a book report instead of a novelke a detailed book report that stays just far enough away from the action that it reads more like a summary. When I looked at the author bio, I realized that I was smack on about the screenwriti [...]

    • I loved The Mustard Seeds. True, it is written in a present tense style I don't generally read, but I'm happy to say I quite enjoyed experiencing it.We enter the life of 16 year old Elliot after he has lost his mother and is now being forced to leave his home and school to live with an unknown aunt.Elliot is a musical savant with Asperger's Syndrome, so this is a major turbulence in his life. Elliot was an integral part of his previous school's orchestra, but he is transferring to a new school t [...]

    • What an opening! It reveals so much about 16-year-old Elliot and his only relative, Aunt Amaryllis (love her name). We immediately begin asking ourselves questions about the characters -- the true sign of a 'hooked on the book' reader; a sign the author has done her job; and a foretelling of a good read all the way through. The humour in the sad situation often comes through with the hero's medical condition - Asperger's Syndrome. The book's themes of faith, family love, bullying, and reduced fund [...]

    • I enjoyed this book and was made aware that Asperger's Syndrome effects different people to differing degrees. The characters in the book are very likable, except for the school bullies (of course) and Principal Winters. The book was written in a way that made me feel like an outsider looking into the story instead of being a part of the story, which I found confusing at times. But there were very good lessons to be learned in The Mustard Seed, about friendship and not judging others because the [...]

    • This was a cute book. It had a good moral to it. It is about Elliot a boy who has Aspergers Sydrome. His mother dies and he needs to leave his musical school and go live in Arizona, where he wants to start a band because there is no musical program and how he does it. She did a great job with getting across the point about how some kids with Aspergers function. It was a well written story. I won this book on First reads.

    • A story about challenges and struggles overcome, Mustard Seeds is a quick read, yet captivating. In addition to having Asperger's, Elliot White faces a principle at his new school that disapproves the student's determination to further the school program. I would recommend Mustard Seeds to a friend.

    • A wonderful book of faith. As I am a bit of a musician myself, I found Elliot's ability most inspiring. I knew little about Asperger's Syndrome, so that was good information. Elliot and his band of misfits portray a faith that we all can learn from.

    • I listened to this audio version. I enjoyed the book, it's a sweet story of overcoming aspergers and becoming your own person.

    • I loved it! was short story. Great book for young people to read but adults can learn a lesson from it also. Amazing what a little Faith can do!!!
