    • Although rather typical in many ways (dog main character, dog misbehaves, dog learns lesson, dogs goes to sleep at the end - could've ended two pages before), the elements are engaging. IT reminds me a little of the "Dog's Noisy Day" book. The dog says things in English and it is then translated in to "Dog." The art is done as if there is a camera lens causing close-up distortion, which is different. The text is nicely expressive of the dog.

    • This was a fun find in our "Dogs" book bundle. It's a fun story about getting in over your head, told from Scooter the dog's perspective. The illustrations are bright and playful and funny. It's a good one to read aloud because of all the barking sound effects (which were quite amusing to my infant son).

    • I loved this book and the vivid verbs and the sound words for his climbing stairs and running full out. And the meaning of what he says and what comes out in dog noises. Really fun colorful illustrations and cute ending. Scooter is a dog and I could just hear the dog. Would make a cute cartoon. I can't wait to buy it and have Anne sign it.

    • Scooter is a dog who loves the outside. One day his owner accidentally leaves the open a crack and Scooter decides to go exploring. The story was entertaining and so was the illustrations. My daughter enjoyed this. Would recommend.

    • Bowen captures a dog's curiosity about the world perfectly. I really liked Scooter's POV and easily connected his enthusiasm and adventurous spirit to my own dog's. This would be a fun read aloud for primary students.

    • Scooter gets out of the house one day and goes to the other side of the street where he has never been. There are some scary things on that side. Lucy, his human, gets him safely home.

    • I loved this book! If you love dogs this would be a good book to read to your class. It is very interactive and it would be very easy to ask questions about and get your class involved in the book.
